Getting around
Roselle Park station is on NJ Transit's Raritan Valley Line, on West Lincoln Avenue; some sources place it at Donald Place, with a second entrance from Locust Street. The line runs between High Bridge and Newark Penn Station, although most weekday trains start or end at Raritan. NJ Transit's weekday timetable (as of 8/30/26) marks some midday and evening trains that stop at Roselle Park as "One seat ride service to/from Penn Station New York. No transfer required." All weekday peak-period trains to and from New York require a change at Newark Penn Station. NJ Transit lists bus 113 (to the Port Authority Bus Terminal) and bus 94 at Roselle Park. It names Linden (3 miles away) and Rahway (4 miles away) as the closest stations on other NJ Transit rail lines. Route 28 (Westfield Avenue) runs through the borough, and the Garden State Parkway passes just beyond its western boundary. The borough says the State of New Jersey has designated it a "Transit Village."

Roselle Park was home to WDY, the first broadcasting station licensed in New Jersey. The station was licensed to RCA, then a subsidiary of General Electric, on September 19, 1921, and operated from GE's Aldene plant in the borough. It broadcast only from December 15, 1921 to February 17, 1922, and Eddie Cantor made his radio debut there in early February 1922. The borough itself was incorporated on March 22, 1901, from parts of Union Township.
