Living in Rahway

Rahway at a glance

A Union County municipal profile (based on 2013-2017 Census estimates) says most of Rahway's housing is in single-family (detached or attached) homes, with the rest in two-family houses and buildings of three or more units. The same profile says recent redevelopment has focused on high-density housing downtown. Since the late 1990s the city has revitalized its downtown, authorizing hundreds of new market-rate housing units as part of redevelopment built around the arts and transit.
